Title: Tennessee Classic Knife
Post by: _Jon_ on May 06, 2009, 08:05:31 pm
Howdy folks,

Well I am new to it and ole John T he sure was a fine fellow.  Sat by me and guided me for 3 and a half hours.  From time to time Jessie would offer advice that made the process work even better.  John T explained the process and why and how to strike.  Just about every piece taken off was discussed.  The knife was my first knapped piece.  A good teacher was the the key to success.  Him and Jessie are top shelf.

The obsidian was done a few days ago.

Working material is like nothing else I ever done.  It was an experience I just can't put words to.

Thanks pappy for the horn and help fixing the handle.  Your a true blue friend.

John

Good work.   It is amazing what kind of work can be turned out with the right instructions.
The knapping pit was busy the whole time I was there, and everyone was more than willing to give good advice.

Great looking knife Jon...Cookwood is a fine fellow (his name is Jon also), he gave me a knife during the Classic that he had put a dogwood handle on for me. :)
