Title: Is there bowhunting in Japan?
Post by: Bushman452 on March 22, 2009, 12:38:56 pm
I read an article about primitive archery in Okinawa but I also read about an article on hunting in Japan. So I wonder if there's archery hunting in that country.

from what I can tell...they can hunt with Rifle and Shotgun....just can't own a Pistol....you would think with their Attitude to killing Whales ....Dolphins and Sharks.....they would allow Bow Hunting of Pheasant....Hogs...Black Bear and Sitka Deer....

i know they have wayyy more restrictions on mantaining wildlife, for every tree you cut down you gotta plant five more, which is a good think, but not for a traditional bowyer  ;D ;D

one would think, since archery is such a huge part of japanese culture, bowhunting would be allowed.

i'd be good to go with the trees.  i've planted over 30,000 in the last year.
