Title: Best shape for red elm
Post by: coyote pup on March 20, 2009, 03:38:45 pm
Does anybody have an opinion on what shape would work best, in a red elm stave 68"? I'm tempted to make it narrow, eastern woodlands style about 1.25 at the handle tapering to 1/2" tips. Do you think this would be the best design to utilize the red elm?

That design should work fine for elm.

The best design for what purpose?

Reproduction of a real artifact? For hunting in thick brush? For hanging on a wall?  For arrow speed? What?   ;D
