Title: Tempered Bamboo??

what is being accomplished when tempering bamboo? Is it just asthetics, or actually a preformance enhancer?

It Enhances Performance of the Bamboo..But from what I have read on this Subject....it is only a Temporary One...the Boo will regain the Moisture and you lose most of the Gain that was aquired from the Heat Treating.....here is one old Post about it and a few others....and I do think DanaM is right....We need a Category for just Newbies for Answering Old and Basic Questions on an Everyday Basis....
