Well this is my Ironwood longbow. It is a snaky and twisty 68 t-t bow and pulls 49# @26. It is 1 1/2 at its widest and fated to 3/8 tips. It has a pretty severe dog leg it the lower limb, however it hasn't seemed to effect the bow.The bow shoots fast and accurate. It has no handshock and no stacking. It has taken no set after about 200 hundred shots.I am pretty well pleased with the way the bow turned out. The wood is beautiful. Enjoy

which kind of iron wood would that be.
-
I forgot to mention that the finish was Miniwax dark walnut stain and then 5 coats of wipe on poly.
The arrow rest is a Floppy rest
Here are some more pics; of the grip and the tips.
Oh and the black thing was my new hunting buddy ,Colt, my Black lab pup.

That is awesome! I love character bows and hornbeam always has some in it. :)
-
Sailordad: its locally cut Hop Hornbeam from PA. Its really hard to find a piece that will actually make a bow, but I found a "Honey hole" full of it and it's all mine HAHAHA!!!!!!
-
nice i have 3 logs off hhb to split yet
-
None of the wood I have access to is cut yet. Around here it really doesn't get to be "log" size, just big enough to split in two pieces.
-
Great job. Looks like you conquered the challenge.
-
Look like ya done well on that one :)
-
That is a very fine bow. Congradulations.
Where do you live? Pretty countrside. Nice lab, too :)
-
If you could get that 8" or so of straight wood right below your handle bending a little it might keep that hing from failing.
-
wow iron wood must have taken some making hardest wood ever and worth a lot in its self the wood is nice 1
-
why does everyone think its so hard to work.
i think it works alot like well seasoned hickory
-

-
Really nice, seeing most of your bows is a learning experience for me, that and i love how well all of these turn out =3

I am with you Tim....Works pretty much like Hickory....but it sure handles the Moisture better than Hickory does
