i wanted to make a bow so i clipped off some yew from a bush i dind't no you needed dead so i tillered it and put string on it and it shoots like 80 feet and it works really good but i don't no when it dies if it's going to effect it's shooting?

Well, it's dead now. What you are refering to is dry.
It will most likely follow the string badly when it's dried out, having been overstressed and braced when it was green. It might also break.
Your best bet is to get some books on bow building, like The Bent Stick by Paul Comstock, or The Traditinal Bowyer's Bibles.
