Title: New Guy
Post by: mntale on January 11, 2009, 10:40:11 am
Hello All,
My name is Mark Janco. I live in Minnesota. I'm glad I found this place! I've tried making bows years ago without success, but I'm almost done with a red oak board bow that looks like it might work!

Any other guys into this in my area say hi.

Regards,

Mark

Cheesehead or Troll?  ;D  We already have both so I guess one more can't hurt too bad.  ::)
Welcome Mark, Looking forward to seeing your bow and assisting you with this or your next one....or will that be hundreds!    Pat

:D ;D The only good thing about Sotaheads is that they dont like to eat yellow perch so we come over and take them off their hands once in a while. They do have 10,000 lakes but Wisconsin has far more than that with fish in every one.  ;D
All Joking aside Welcome Mark. You will like it here.

actually we have over 11k lakes, just looks nicer on the license plates to say land of 10k lakes
we have fish in all of them, i just wouldnt recomend eating from some of them especially around the twincities area, northern lakes much cleaner.

Hi guys,
so I just use this thread.  ;)
My name is Jo and my nickname is because I am fond of snakes: to breed and to do fotos.
I am from Germany and one of my hobbys is turning wood, not far away from building bows, startet this 12 years ago and now more than 100 experimental bows hanging down the walls, standing in corners ....
So I hope to have a good time with you.....  ::)

Greetings from Germany.
Jo

Thanks for the warm welcome!  I should have some pics by the weekend or so. Dana, my daughter goes to NMU, maybe next time I visit you'd allow me to stop by and take a look at your bows??

I'm from Bloomington, Badbill, but I hunt birds out your way. My goal is to one day kill a wild pheasant with a bow. Maybe with this one.

Hillbilly, it did get a little chilly here this week. Walked my retriever yesterday morning at -20. But today it warmed up to -8.

Regards,

Mark

I've been through the UP at least a dozen times and never had a pasty yet. The bow is in the Tru Oil stage and still looking good so far. About 55# @ 27". I messed up the handle but I think it will be OK.

 -24 yesterday and -21 today...looks like we're warming up!

By the way, Dana, I don't know if you're a hockey fan but it was interesting to see that NMU swept Wisconsin a couple weeks ago.

Welcome to this great site mntale.I hope you find it as rewarding as I have through the years.I had a favorite uncle from mn.,although he was ranch raised, and a long way from any town.He came to Texas, following the rodeo trail after the war was over ,met my aunt, then became a Texan. God Bless
