Post by: Pappy on December 15, 2008, 12:58:48 pm
I have heard some wonder about Glass points, let me just say they work.Sawfiler gave me one a couple of weeks ago and I was lucky enough to get a shot Sat.It went through and lodged in a rib on the other side and come through it all UN harmed.

Awesome!  How thick is that arrowhead?  Is it tempered glass?

The point is from the bottom of an Aunt Jemima bottle...I think maple flavored. ;D

Ryan, I was in on the hunt with Pappy and there when he field-dressed the buck. The point may have knicked a rib on the entry, can't remember for sure. But it was stuck in a rib on the opposite side. I watched the buck run by me and the arrow was clicking of tree's he was passing by...very rigid sticking out of his side. The point had to be under some stress when that arrow was hitting tree's, it finally broke the cane.

Not sure how thick,it is pretty thin, really.I ant sure weather it hit a rib going in or not,it sounded like I hit a pumpkin. :) That is 6 for the year,no big ones but lots of meat. They were all killed with trade points or this one with glass and either Cain or shoot shafts,so anyone worried about using this kind of stuff ,no worries it will do the job just fine. :)

That is impressive for the glass point, must have a lot of mojo in it from Shannon - or maybe it was hard maple flavored syrup ;D. Kinda like that deer i finished off last year with stone point - busted right through a rib with no damage whatsoever..
