150 pound draw

Would a huge hickory stave that is absolutely perfect hold 150 lbs. of draw?

Yeah i think it is possible. I'm pretty sure someone has a 250lbs bow from hickory just can't remember who.

Are you going to try make this 150lbs bow then?

I think that Marlons (goes by Heavybows) has an exercise bow that is 250#. I beleive its hickory and looks like a 2x4.

I think hickory will do it if its good qulity dense stuff. Make it long and keep it more square in cross section to minimize set.

Yes it will. Doesn't even have to be that pefect, hickory is pretty good on knots and stuff. It shoudl amke weight- especially if you temepr the belly.

when i finish it i'll post pics, i think with some practice i could draw it back, I can draw 100 pounds without too much difficulty

Do you use an overhead draw when you shoot your war bows?
