"Meat Maker"
« on: September 28, 2008, 02:57:54 pm »
This Osage bow came from the sister stave of "Arkansas Toothpick",which was posted a few weeks ago.It has a little side to side character, and the same front to back hump that its sister has.The limbs are on different planes,as the other bow is,so tillering was "interesrting".It made a fast bow, smooth and no hand shock.
it is 65 7/8" tip to tip,64" nock to nock.
1 1/16" at fades tapering to 3/8" tips.
60#@ 28"      God Bless

A fine looking bow ( Hopefully aptly named). That is also a fine looking anti-mouse device you have sprawled there. Good work !  Frank

I love the handle, Im gonna have to learn how to lace up leather like that sometime soon. How thick was the leather on that?

Thanks to all for the kind words,I appreciate it.Knightd,I wish I had a 32" power stroke, but that arrow is only 30" from the nock to the base of the trade point.Aries, the handle leather is about 1/16" thick.Frank, thanks, that little cat is a good mouser, but her specialty is gopher huntin'.Every time she catches one,and that is very often, she'll bring it to show me.She likes to hang out at the shop with me,(and get in a picture every now and then).I just wish I had the patience she's got, what a hunter!         God Bless
