wood for bows?
« on: August 23, 2008, 03:50:39 am »
just a quick heads up for anybody in the indianapolis, IN region. with the re-construction of the i-465 loop on the west side, there's an awful bunch of trees coming down from the right of ways.....and they are stacking anything that won't go through the chipper along the high, probably waiting to haul to the dump! i haven't asked about them, but i wouldn't be suprised if they're free for the asking! my domestic engineer (that's wife, in everyday terms!!!) would probably not take well to much more "bow-stock" so i doubt i'll be asking, but if someone is looking for some, i know ther is some osage, black locust, black cherry, and who knows what else. when they get to the right of way on the other side, there some MATURE black locust trees that have got me salivating!!
