New best point
« on: August 06, 2008, 11:53:57 pm »
Heres a pic of my newest point i made. Its made of some of that flint river stuff I found. It started out as a real blocky piece of rock. I cant even begin to describe how much I learned making this point.
I think the dull brown color takes away from the quality of the point.

Don't be so hard on yourself, I really like that drown stuff and the oint looks great.
Otoe bow, I just drove a flake down through my leg pad and about 1/4" deep in my leg, does that count?
Be thankfull for all you have, because no matter how bad you think it is...it can always be worse.

Good looking point. I love the butterscotch color of that Flint River myself, some of my favorite rock to work. If you heat it a little, it will get a lot of red color in it, but I like the raw stuff better for points that will be used. Don't fall into the "calander knapper" trap of only using colorful candy rock, you'll shortchange yourself out of a lot of learning and functionality both.
