my new otter quiver
« on: August 07, 2008, 12:09:34 pm »
made from an otter hide that my buddy Darrell gave to me a while back.
washed with lye soap (to get rid of the fish smell), broken, and oiled.
the strap is a piece of an old wool blanket tied on with pillow ticking both of which I grabbed from grandmother's house. the green is some store-bought pigment that I rubbed in before the skin dried completely.
it will easily hold six or seven arrows, probably many more....

just needs a little decoration. I'll add some things here and there..some feathers for instance, items that'll add Good Medicine.

Cromm asked if I had used it yet....
well, I used it to carry my arrows along to where I shot them for a while.
It'll get used a bunch when hunting season comes in.

thanks for the compliments everyone !
