I second the advice for a Griz. I had an older 12", 1/2" hp Craftsman, good saw but a little under powered.

Next I bought a 3/4 hp 14" Rigid, absolute JUNK, so poorly made there was no way to make the blades track, a Rigid warranty repair shop even gave up on it. Rigid sent a replacement saw but it was missing half the parts.

My latest saw is a 2hp Griz with all the bells and whistles and worth every penny I paid for it. It it were stolen today I would have another ordered tomorrow, it is that good. They have changed the model # since I bought mine. Here is the current model.
