I wouldnt blame the boo on this one. I just had the opportunity to examine a 84#@28" 66"ntn glass backed and bamboo bellied longbow like HH made them in the early 50's. The bow is 29mm at the widest and does not show set, in fact its got 1.5" backset.
Bamboo seems incerdibly strong in compression.

Edit: the longer i think about this bow the more i think Mr Schulz cheated this result with that thin layer of carbon under the last layer of the boo 🤣🤣🤣this layer most likely takes most of the load 🤣🤣🤣anyways,...I will have to do my own experiments...
