Big knot bow
« on: October 31, 2025, 12:37:36 pm »
Well I went to Branson then I was close to Jim Hammer so I went to see him and check on his wood supply. He was low on staves but had 100 or so bow blanks. I bought a few bow blanks because they had the wood I like in them. Here is a couple of his character bow blanks . I seen the one with a big knot at the fade and it challenged me to see if I could make it work with out braking.

I spent about 4 hours on the heat bench getting the bow straight to my liking. Put the tip overlays on.

Here is just how big the knot is. That being at the highest stress point makes it interesting.
