A 35 pound competition bow
« on: October 16, 2025, 03:44:18 am »
Ive been busy working building the new primitive archer main page and realized, I need to actually take a moment and post some bows ive built over the last few months. This is an experimental 35 pounder that I built for my wife to shoot the 35 pound class for ladies division in flight shooting. I need to make another with a few changes to get better distance, it didnt perform as well as Id have liked but I think I can get more out the design. Its 35#@25. I still the deflexed handle technique from Arvin. The epoxy is non blushing west system and it works GREAT!

Tread softly and carry a bent stick.

Great looking bow, what weight arrows and how far?
Del
Thanks Del.
This bow was the one she shot the first round, and the weather was off, no one did well that day. But she shot 215 yards 2 feet 5 inches. I dont know how much that specific arow weighed but most her arrows were in the 150 grain range. Id like to test the bow some more later to see what I can do with it on good weather, but that will need to wait. I think it has more in it, I hope at least another 20 yards.
