BJ da Man!
You are busier than a one legged man at an a$$ kickin contest! Of my four oldest grands. I got one who loves the outdoors and primitive skills as much as I do. The rest are so "digital" I shudder for their survival! My younger grands are also very digital. Our family reunions have dues. Guess you gotta pay to belong. That could contribute to why I don't go. Some day, I hope to meet man of m PA family! Some of you will come to me, I do hope to make it to the Classic sometime! My door is always open and coffee can be ready soon!

Morning, Brian!  Always enjoy watching the circle of the seasons on this thread.  That green truck is awfully pretty!

Thanks guys. I do love the progression of the year WB. It’s usually the same every year, but different.

Fair is over. Have wheat stubble fields all ready for cover crop seeding.

In the shop another big project.

We were planning on doing this one since last year.

We have two carts we use to catch grain, beans or sugar beets. They were built by a local fabricator and we really like them. They have a weak point though. The undercarriage for the tracks leaves a bit to be desired. Really shouldn’t complain but after twenty some years it is worn out.

We bought a pair of track carriages and now we need to mount them to our cart. We had we remove old carriages and cut off the mounting system for them. Now we need to make a undercarriage to connect both tracks to the cart

Before I came home tonight I stopped by the beach.  I have as my cousin would say “A milkweed garden “. They like my beach too.

Speaking of garden. The first cobs of corn for supper just off the stalk and into the kettle. Man it tasted good

I keep meaning to try that, but my Badgerling doesn't like me to pull it up--might displace a monarch caterpillar.   ;D  That kid is a monarch aficianado.

Hey WB, just wait till fall when it dies back for the year. Cut it off at ground level. Don't mess with it green, it is toxic!

We have been getting lots of work done yet.

The guys in the shop have made big progress on the cart. That’s good because it won’t be long until we need it.

It’s starting to feel like fall in the air. Was a little chilly the last couple nights and it felt good to get under the blankets.

My sweet corn was a bumper crop. I gave literally tons away. Froze some and enjoyed it for supper too.

It was dry for spreading our cover crop seed and working it in. Then we got some much needed rain. Our cover crop is coming up beautiful and should have really good growing conditions.

I blended a mixture of rye, radish and some old leftover edible bean seed .

Not sure if you can see it in picture but I can see all three coming up here.

My son went on a much deserved vacation (I’m sure he was more tired when he got home than before he left) I took care of his cattle and tried to get as much done for him as I could. I know it’s never fun coming home exhausted from vacation and having all the work to do that piled up while you were gone.

I did manage to get all his rye straw gathered up and stored away.

I’m sure he appreciated it.

His cattle were always happy to see me
