Dipped finish on limbs

Somewhere between the mid-paleolithic and the last decade, someone posted some bows with super clean finish coating on the limbs.  I remember asking him about it and he said he dipped the limbs in the finish. I have tried searching the subject and have had no luck. Does anyone remember this or dip their limbs in finish?

Knoll turned me on to his design for a homemade dip tube for arrows, really slick. I'm kicking it around to do the same for bow limbs and would love to have some discussion with the group to go over the potential benefits and possible problems.

I believe cane fly rod makers, use dipping tanks to put on a finish(maybe a spar varnish).

Gary Davis and Matt Warwicky used a dip tub to dip their's , probably in Gary's video if you can get hold of a copy of that. Never tried it but Gay said it was easy pezzy ,especially if you do a lot of bows.

Gotta wonder if you'd thin the finish first?  Then dip and hang until dripping slowed drastically, flip over for tip up so you don't have a drip form on the tip and dry into a nub.

I kept changing my search words and came across Pearl Drums saying he was about to dip finish his limbs back in 2015-ish. I sent him a private message, but he's on here very irregularly. Does anyone have any contact info for Chris?
