A package in the mail
« on: September 25, 2024, 07:16:30 am »
I have been very busy with farming lately. I got home late one night last week or so and my wife told me there was a package in the man cave for me.

I knew it was coming because the person who sent it to me had called me about it a couple weeks before. Then I got a call it was lost in mail. Well they seemed to find it again and it finally got to my place.

Arvin you are a fine person. You have been so generous to me I can’t really express my thanks enough. I know what this package cost you and you knowing it was not in my budget sent it to me anyway. Thanks again glad the post office found it.

Two beautiful bow blanks. It will most likely be a few months before I can get at it, but I will try to make the bows we talked about and hopefully we can get together sometime.

Thanks for everything and thanks for being a part of this site.

Here’s a picture of the two bow blanks and my Simply Osage bow

He sure is Pappy. He’s probably going to get me to the flats someday yet. It’s a crazy busy time of year for me farming, but I’m getting to the point where I might be able to get away a bit. Still really busy time.

Arvin thanks again. I’m hoping to get to meet with you soon. Maybe some winter. I want you to know you are welcome to visit anytime. I would love to make a few shavings with you and send a few arrows sailing into the blue sky.

BJ you are the best I know at 0 set on 25” draw bows . I may know some one as good but have not seen the bows. I’m sure you will do the blanks more justice than me . Let’s brake the 50# selfbow flight record.
Well I'll say!!  Osage is king!!

Yes sir, that’s a very fine gift. Goes back to the many reasons I love this site.  And the main one, the people.  Congrats to you both, the giver and the recipient.

I don’t know what to say except I will certainly take my time with these blanks and try very hard to remove everything that isn’t a bow and leave everything that is. I’m not sure I can do any better than you, but I get the feeling you would be thrilled if I did.

Thanks again Arvin. Be talking with you again about these in the not to distant future.

I made a little room for you GlisGlis. I need to save my messages somehow

You know I have been thinking about this package and this site.

I have an idea for one of these blanks if I can get the bow I’m looking for.

Stay tuned in. Hopefully in the near future.
