If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

I forget exactly what it stands for but it’s a trade. We say how many points we would like to put in the trade and then we get that many points back from a random draw

I put one point in so my name is on the list once

I send a point to the name under my name and receive a point from the name above mine

So I will send one to Mullet

And receive one from bone pile

Thanks for the explanation! That's really cool. Maybe next year I'll be good enough to put my name in the hat for the PITH.A new goal to push me. Looks like I'll need to have another visit to Nethers

You don't have to be an expert to do it, I'm not for sure. We all started somewhere.

Mullet is correct.
It doesn’t matter your skill level .
No one judges here.  It’s just a good fun trade.
I have points knapped by the same person 10 years apart.  You can really see how much a knapper has progressed.

PITH = Point In The Hat

It's a sort of round-robin trade. Everyone sends their point off to the next guy on the list and gets one from the person on the other side of the list. We do bow trades like this, too. For some it's a challenge to level up in the game and try to turn out something next level. For others, it's a cheap lottery ticket to buy a chance to get a point from a knapper they have long admired. The true point (and yes, I chose that word with great deliberation as all puns should be well intended) is feeling of joining into your community and sharing with friends.

How's that for a pithy remark?
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

Got the point today and it’s beautiful all the way around!  Like that color in the obsidian!  It seems I’m due to get a new point case going.

Many thanks, Eddie.
