one of these with some mods
1, the shoe has been rounded. the front and back edges were sanded away with the beltsander. the throat area remains untouched
2. the blade has been re-profiled . it now has about an 1/8" crown. keeps the corners from catching and allows narrow shavings
3. the blade sharpener jig has a single contact point at the center to facilitate sharpening the radiused blade edge.
