HUSH
« on: December 05, 2021, 09:41:55 am »
Here's a service that's been in Iowa during deer season for quite a few years for hunters that don't eat deer and realize others do like to eat deer meat.

Nice, that should help some folks out, the problem here is you can only donate processed meat to the program and it has to be done by a licensed processor. Al though some of the processors give you a reduced rate you still have to pay for it to give it to the program, so I just do my own and give to who I want. Either way you are helping people in need out.

Yes same here.In the past I've drop off quarters onto peoples' porches that I know for them to cut up as they want.Deer processers can be rather expensive.

In Alabama the process fee is all paid by the Hunters Feeding the Hungry program. You can keep parts of the deer you donate if you want to. For instance if you want the back straps the processor will charge you  so much a pound for packaging the backstraps and holding them for you. They grind the entire deer for the program and distribute it to food banks.

It's good to see these services available in many of the states.
