Practice shaping some styles on scrap wood, until you find one you like, then try it on a bow!  These are all good ideas!

Fox, I'm with Jim:  I put straight, ELB-style handles on all my bows so far (I shaped handles on several "bow kits" before I started building them from scratch).  My hand just adapts to them and they all feel the same.  My old fib*****ss recurve has a semi-pistol grip, and it works fine too.  Good to try a few styles and find what works for you.
