I have 3" to go and I need to re-temper because a lot of the browned wood was scrapped off. 

I may not have a perfect tiller, but I'm not sure if what I think is a perfect tiller is a good tiller for this piece.  The bow should weigh 13.5 oz at 55# @ 28", so I will have a little extra mass for good measure.

Tradcraftsman that bow looks a lot like what i'm going for, simple D bow design. I'm getting worried i'll be the only one still posting on this thread, looks like everyone else has finished or is almost done! Making slow but steady progress. I believe I will be up late tonight tillering it.

Your tips look a bit stiff so you may need to account for some inner limb mass in your calculation. Matching your tiller shape to a circle will usually cause too much bend in the handle/inner limb unless it is made wide to accommodate that. If you have noticeable set in the inner limb/handle that would be a sign that it’s working too much there. Especially don’t want set in those areas.

I put two coats of stain on the bow today, poly will go on Friday and Saturday, hopefully I will get photos of the finished bow up Sunday. 

I noticed chrysalling for several inches on either side of the handle as I was about to re-temper it.  I tweaked the tiller, but they're still there.  They're small and evenly spread out, which tells me the tillering was even, it just wasn't the right shape.  In hindsight I can see the tiller is two round in the handle for a bow with parallel inner limbs.  I might have tried more substantial retillering, but I don't think it would have improved enough to make it worth the risk.  A so-so heavy bow should shoot about as well as a decent lighter bow right?

I seriously doubt the bow will break outright, but over time it may pick up more set.  Right now the biggest issue is cosmetic.  I was a little hesitant to put a finish on knowing the issues are there, but I figured the finish and handle materials are only worth a few dollars, but it adds more than that to the value of the bow.  Anyway, handles can be re-used.

The problem is that the bow is two good to throw away and to bad to give away

It has about 150 shots through it and seems to shoot as well as any of my others, at 26" it shouldn't have any issues to worry about.

im trying to add the same amount of reflex in the other limb for my bow. i need to buy a 2x4 from home depot. Things are pretty slow but tomorrow is my last final before spring break.

So guys, here's my nearly finished fourth bow! it's a very short (44" ntn) European Ash selfbow. This is going to be a "toy bow", with a draw weight of 15-20# at 18". I'm making it as a gift for my girlfiend's little brother for his 10th birthday, and since they don't have a very big garden I opted for a very low poundage bow. The one on the right is the top limb, I'd say it needs to be weakened a bit but for the rest the bow seems bending pretty well, right?

Here it is finished.  It is exactly 2 months since I cut this wood.  It's not perfect, but is should be serviceable enough; I don't think it will die violently.  The tempered belly looks great, I will defiantly try this again   The fur on the handle is an experiment, it didn't go on seamlessly, but next time it may.

By the way, the total set right now is just under 1" and the draw weight is right around 60# @ 28".
