Tillering boot
« on: September 05, 2020, 08:10:19 pm »
So I couldn’t seem to find any template online for building a tillering boot for a long string, so decided to wing it. I traced the pattern onto leather, cut it out, punched the holes, laced it up, and strung on a nylon rope as a long string. Hopefully these pictures helps someone who is scratching their head how to do it. Haven’t tried it yet but if I can’t build this successfully I probably have no business in the hobby (bring on the comments on how it was all wrong!)

Looks like they should work.  I just use a loop and a Bowyer's knot and adjust as I go.  Let us know.

Next time fold the edges over so your string goes through a few layers not just one.

Ha! You are correct, that is a better idea! I knew I couldn’t build one right! On an aside it does work just fine though.
