Hey, I'm new to bow building and have been scouting local bow woods around my area. I need help identifying this tree. It resembles cascara but the leaves seem different. Any help would be appreciated.

Probably not the bst place to post this. Try the “Bows” section.

If you live in South Texas or Mexico, this could be Anacua which is used as fence post and tool handles. Every place else, it's probably a Hawthorn.
