These plants grow in the woods back behind our house.
I have never seen them anywhere else.
Most grow on the sides of steep hills.
Can someone ID them for me??
Thanks
David

It almost looks like a lobelia, David, ie. Cardinal flower(red) or blue lobelia. After the bloom comes out please post another pic or 2.
Although, lobelias generally grow in wet areas.

Got an ID on the Plant.
Took a while using the "High Speed" internet here at work.
The plant is called American Columbo. Bit of a strange plant.
Lives for 5 to 30 years as a bunch of leaves. Then it will send up a
flower stalk, bloom, make seeds then die.
Thanks

David, There is a real good free App for your phone called PlantSnap. Take a look at it.

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

Thanks David. I'll look it up. It's a new one for me.
