ive hear rumors about madrone being very stiff and compression strong but brittle in tension like ipe. anyways i think a hickort or madrone backed bow would look and perform great. anyone have some branches they dont want

I have made some decent bows from madrone. never had a real good stave to work. I f I remember right it has some tendency to chrysal but not too bad.

it has beautiful wood and would look amazing in a bow, maybe with a good stave it work better. regardless if i get the opportunity to make one ill at least try it and if it breaks ill try again cause im just a teeny bit stubborn
