Birch bow done

Finished birch bow that I cut on our property. I live in Alaska so the only decent bow wood is birch.
Wanted to make one from tree to bow instead of staves off of e-bay.
66" 50@25.  Fake python back, early American stain, walnut tip overlays.
Kinda rushed it, going on a deer hunt in two weeks. Also homemade birch arrows from same tree.
I'll send pics on next post, having issues with pics.  Bows name is Birch Baby!

Hey! I just recently joined this site after seeing your post. I live in Wasilla and plan on cutting and splitting some birch staves next weekend so I can try to build my first bow this winter. How did you prep your staves for drying? I’d planned on splitting or quartering the logs and de barking before sealing the ends with Elmer’s and then storing them in the spare bedroom.

Hey cutty, cant wait to see some pictures. Made quite a few birch bows....it's good stuff for hunting bows.

Hey Chris, I quartered, debarked, sealed the ends, and also sealed the back. Then stored shaded. Keep them 2” wide and shoot for 64”-68”.
