I do like it bubby. Kinda giving me the itch to try making one myself. I'm thinking you  anealed file to work on it and then hardened in the later stages? I really do take so much really high quality steel to the scrap yard every year. It'd be great to make something out some of it.

This one is stock reduction, annealed, shaped, normalized three times and heat treated with a three second quench in warm water then straight into oil. Tempered in my toaster over.

i've been meaning to make a post with pics but i just haven't gotten it done yet :-[

i got my knife on saturday i'll have pics up hopefully tomorrow :-X

and i'm almost done with mine i just need to sharpen it and slap a sheath together and it'll be out the door.
