Neuse, I have the good fortune of living in a beautiful place here in western Oregon. I even get to hunt elk, deer and bear in my backyard. Now if I can actually manage to shoot one.

Wizardgoat, that's interesting. I've never worked with vine maple from other places. Every piece of wood is so different it might be hard to have an objective comparison.
Vinemaplebows, I didn't cut this particular piece. I don't know where Carson cut it. I just look for something half way straight when I'm cutting vine maple. I'm in Willamina but have cut all over western oregon
Ghost Dog, It certainly makes a sweet bow. I can't attest to chronograph results but they always feel pretty snappy to me.
