Coues deer up close
« on: August 29, 2017, 01:31:28 am »
Deer harvested at a distance of 11 yards . Weapon: a hickory board bow (3rd ever made) bend in handle "D-bow" that has about 36# or so draw weight at the 24 inches I pulled in the basically sitting position.  Mulefat arrow, 550 grains, Zwickey 125 eskimo.

Arrow hit heart area via the paunch and liver; artery cut.  Deer piled up 70 yards away.  ASAT seems to be useful.

Forgot to add the bow and arrows:  on top, ramin with 163 grain Ace, three ash with Zwickey  125 grains, and the bottom one, mulefat, with Zwickey 125 grain.

This website and you guys really helped this endeavor.

Very nice accomplishment. The ol' grey ghost isn't easy, so I've heard.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.
