I had a regular at the store I work at came in and ask for a bow. We figured on going with a 45#at 25" flatbow out of persimmon. Draw length based of the chest to finger tip measurement. So far I've only made two persimmon bows and both were of the English longbow style, one 60# and the other 130# (still need to test that big thing). So I've got an idea of where to work with in that style. With a flatbow I'm not exactly sure. I'm leaning towards making it with 1 1/2-5/8" from fade to midlimb and making the limbs 27" long from fade to nock for a 25" draw. He wants to keep the limbs on the narrower side, so I'll compensate with extra length. So if it needs a little extra build up, I'd like to put it into tge length. It'll be heat treated with a straight limbed profile. The only things he is concerned with, are tough and durable, not necessarily performance. Though there won't be any complaints if it does perform well. Sound reasonable?
