That's great, Clint.  Congratulations.  I'm hoping to do the same in November in Kentucky but I'll be using my new bear takedown recurve...maybe black powder.

You really got on the board quickly with a kill. That doe rawhide or even leather is some gooood stuff too. It's still quite warm here.I'm afraid I'd have to butcher the deer within a couple of days for sure to prevent any mold etc. forming. My plan is to get at least 2 deer this year.

Thanks Parnell.  Good luck in KY.

Ed, It's warm here also.  It was less than 2 hours from the time I dropped the string until she was skinned, quartered up in the deer fridge, and we were cleaned up.  I'm glad I plugged the fridge in on Friday.

Excellent work sir. Only one discrepancy I can find with your story. When you said you stood up...

Oh nevermind.

Good shooting man!

Was that a feeble attempt at a short joke?  ;D   I always stand up to shoot a bow out of a tree stand.

Good job Clint. My wife and I sat yesterday evening and all we saw were tree rats. That will be some good eats for sure.

I'm looking forward to some fresh loin steaks.

I went back to the blood trail and found the pointy end of the arrow.  The Cliff Zwickey point held up really good.  The very tip was just a little curled.  A few swipes on a stone and its ready to be used again.
