Ya you have to be a resident in TN. also.
We do have what the call green belt here and it helps a lot on the land taxes. I think you have to make at least 1,500.00 off the land in a years to qualify , but it really helps on the taxes. Don't get me started on property taxes, we have owned this land since 1940 and pay way more in taxes each year than was give for the land. My house and land are paid for also and the property tax's are more now than my house payment was when I had one. Go figure, you never really own anything.
One good thing about turning 65, in Tennessee you property taxes are froze, so at least they won't go up anymore as long as I live. Of course they can always change that law and probably will when they need more money.
