Hickory for trade
« on: August 16, 2017, 10:14:09 am »
Hello, So I am new here (posting), have been lurking for a bit longer (I'm a creeper I know). So I have about a dozen hickory staves hanging out in my rafters. I am working on a couple currently, but was thinking what better way to get some experience with other types of wood than to see if anyone is willing to trade... I have worked hickory and black locust, but and open to whatever is out there really.

Thanks in advance.

p.s. its lead like the element, not in first place.

I will take some when I get home this evening. The were cut a few months ago (April?). so they are still a little wet...

Pics are accessible.
... alone in distant woods or fields, in unpretending sproutlands or pastures tracked by rabbits, even in a bleak and, to most, cheerless day .... .  I suppose that this value, in my case, is equivalent to what others get by churchgoing & prayer.  Hank Thoreau, 1857
