Look out Squirrels
« on: April 23, 2017, 03:52:18 pm »
Mike (Knoll) gifted me a few months back a very cool sling shot/wrist rocket.  Make of mesquite, the wood and the way Mike arrange the grain is beautiful.  Sorry Mike for not getting these pictures up sooner.  It stays in my truck and I shoot it every time I'm at camp. Thanks again.

Some of us never quite grew up.   :)
I found out mesquite is some kinda hard hard wood.
Bill, I hope you connect with one of those tree rodents!

Nice shooting Mike. OK Bill, you'd better practice up.
I used to be a pretty good shot with a $0.10 wire slingshot when I was a kid but can't quite reproduce that accuracy these days.  :o

Knoll fortunately, most of us on here either never grew up or returned to our youths.lol. That's what makes this place so neat

Man, I always wanted one of those things when I was a kid, but my parents would never let me have one. A kid down the street had one and wouldn't let me use it.  >:( Perhaps this was one of those life experiences that ultimately lead to my obsession with homemade projectiles! (SH)

That is a fine looking "flip". It was always called a "flip" around here, back when I was a kid that stayed in trouble for killing too many of Granny's songbirds....  I never had one that pretty.  We used to shoot 5/16" nuts out of ours - that dates my slingshot useage.  A nut didn't cost 37 cents a piece then :(.  Without an adjustment for cost of living, I could have shot away more money than my dad made that day! ;D

Wow!  One of those would be worth trying to trade for!  Haven't used one since I was a kid, but we used pebbles, rocks or ball bearings, if we could find them.  Too bad that everything is so pc now that you can't discharge or propel any kind of projectile in town.  Got some of those squirrels and a few invasive doves I'd like to pop👹😂😀!
