What to use for target points?

What size rod & nuts, as well as guide holes are you using?  Pretty cool idea!

The rod and nuts are 8-32. They fit in a how about 3/8".  The holes for the nock are 11/32  and 1/8" respectively, with the guide hole set back 3/8".

If everyone makes one of these do we name it?  There is Eric Krewson's tillering gizmo. Is this an arrowing gizmo?

That jig is only for drilling the hole on the side of the shaft that'll become the bottom of the nock, right?
What are all those holes? For different arrow diameters? Only need 2 holes?

Looks cool. Still not sure of how I'd drill a hole parallel to a shaft, straight in the center of it.. unless it's bamboo which already has a hollow that guides the bit..

one of the holes is for drilling into the end of the shaft to affix the point. Cheers- Brendan

Right, so you insert the shaft up to the imbedded nuts and make sure it is straight. Then drill with a hand drill from the other end.  As long as I am not sloppy, it comes out centered. Bamboo does work better, but I have drilled shoot shafts as well.

Most of the holes are failed attempts to get things centered properly. Some are because it was scrap wood I used.

I mean a hand held drill instead of a drill press.  I can't mount the arrow under my press and still have clearance.

Thanks,  I will be trying to make one.  Might even have some 8-32 nuts kicking around the garage.  Rod is another matter, but readily accessible.  Found a piece of maple that is looking for something to do😀👹!

Hey I am new but I get poplar dowels from Lowes and drill a hole and insert a pop rivet. I have shot them several days into a Walmart target made of Styrofoam and seems to do good. Missed once and hit a concrete block, it sorta flattened but still shoots good.
