Copper dagger handle wood?

I was fascinated by this Youtube, but have to wonder about the connection of blade to handle. If that is how was historically constructed, I wonder what the best wood would be for the task.

That's pretty cool. I think James Parker made a replica of an Aztec ceremonial sacrifice knife similar to this one for the Mexican Government and it is in a museum in Mexico.

its interesting for sure. I've seen the video and its a cool though to think that there was some neat push dagger martial arts in the iceman age. However I'm also thinking that it might also just be very crude stickman type drawings for what they thought a dagger looked like. there are also mycenian mushroom hilted swords that would have looked similar though obviously a lot more elongated.

That just took me down a two hour rabbit hole watching various people forging increasingly strange bits of steel like roller chains, steel birdshot, and scalpel blades into knives! Thanks, LOL!
