Pecan

So I scored this last night couple of my Mexican brethren where cutting up a tree and placing the bits of the roadside so I pulled over and talk to them they cut off a huge piece that wouldn't have allowed it to fit in my wife's suv. Needless to say my wife is amazing. Rode around on date night with a tree in the back
......It's pecan I'm hoping to split into two and seal the ends and store it somewhere inside.
It does have termite damage but I'm hoping it works in my favor.at least half of the tree looks salvageable.

No bows in that wood. Pecan is a hickory and rot gets in it easily. Try using it to smoke meat.

I agree that's too sketchy to try a bow from.

I'd try splitting it into staves and give it a try, if anything, at least you got in a work out.
Cheers
