My supervisor found these in the trash the other day at work and asked me if I wanted to give them a good home, so they followed me home. Who throws stuff like this away?

Actually I went and looked in the trash with him, and there were about another fifteen pipe wrenches in there with this one, all American made, 24" and 36". He wouldn't let me take all of them or I would have

Clint I didn't make it five minutes with the Plumb hatchet and someone offered me 20 bucks for it. I don't normally do any alley trading but I wasn't gonna pass that up. I was shocked at what people would pay for cast iron cooking things. That is where the money is!

My neighbor and I headed for an Amish sawmill this morning and was overwhelmed with the options.
In the end, we each came away with a few pieces and vowed to return in a few weeks. My share cost me a whopping $5, and some of this stuff is incredible.

Jon, Hatchet and ax prices are very high right now. Good job turning a quick profit.
Scott, That's some nice looking turning blanks. Did you climb to the top of the pile to look around?

Yep, Clint I was all over that pile. It was mostly oak, maple, and sycamore, but we were looking for the interesting grains, spalting, and ambrosia chunks.

I took the wife on a quick lunch date in town today. Just so happens to be an antique store next to the restaurant. They were having a 40% off sale. I got these for $2.40. I'm going to grind the jaws a little and use them for holding flat steel in my forge.
He had a selection of cast iron skillets. I got this Griswold for $19
And now for the interesting find. I went to a guys house I met on Tradgang. He lives about 30 minutes away. We split a little wood and then talked bows for a while. He ended up giving me this True Temper spring steel longbow. I think it was made in the 1920's - 1930's. It has a U cross section to the limbs. I believe its a take down but I didn't try to take the limbs out of the cork grip. The string is not original. I think it came with a metal string. We strung it up and shot a couple of arrows out of it. It's slow with some hand shock/vibration. He checked the draw weight and got 42 lbs @ 28".
