How to pad the loops of a bowstring?

I normally use 8 stands on 50# bows, just for reference.  And I think that it would be safe to go to 6 strand for a 50# bow like Ed says.
I believe one stand is supposed to withstand 50# in tension.

I wonder what the strand count on FF+ is where the string fits perfectly into a regular plastic arrow nock (with the string being served only once, of course).  12? 14?

You can get different sized serving too, just to complicate things
