I missed this one somehow. Very nice simple osage bow, Simon.  8)

Some of you asked about my pausing here - I had some healthy issues to play with, but I'm coming along.

Did you actually drive the nail in or did you pre-drill a hole? How far in does it go?

the nail was shortened, hole drilled in the neutral plane, a drop of super glue, filed in shape -  that's all

Gorgeous
I don't know what fuming is.

Please go on my site search for fuming and you will see it is a treatment with ammonia.

57# at 54" length, wow...it doesn't take much more than a splinter to make an osage bow. Beautiful bow and tiller.

My thoughts too Hrothgar. Looking at simple plain sticks, people who do not know it's a child's bow. Great surprise when I shoot with one these.

Nice to be here again, and glad you like my work. Thanks for looking and comments. The next will come soon.

That's extraordinary blend of craftsmanship and good wood to get such power out of such a little bit of wood!
It looks pretty gorgeous too!   :D
