A rose arrow

I made one rose arrow. It is quite good - straight, right spine and so on. However, I don't like shooting it. It is very uncomfortable arrow. So, what went wrong? Should it be the other way around, so that thorns are pointed toward the nock of the arrow? Or, should I just remove the thorns...?

If the moose could get you to shoot more rose, they would win!
just curious, is that a domesticated variety or what is native?
I have some rosa acicularis drying, but I have never heard of any rose being used traditionally.

Actually I didn't shoot that arrow. But I will, after I find my thick leather gloves and other safety euipments. Lets see what happens! I suppose it won't hit the bullseye...
