the reason i wasent too sure about this one is that there is some in town like i mentioned, but the leaves just didnt look right on them to me. this one however looks much better imo.

Where I collect OS is about 25-30 some year old second growth fir. The OS started when it was clear cut and has had to grow taller as the fir matured. There is a lot of 2" dia OS there. Still tough to find a long enough piece though.

Good point thats why I buy my material.  My only real loss is I keep breaking them............ >:D  so between gas money and looking it all works out in the end.

You found it! I can show you some good spots towards the north of the county but it's literally everywhere.
