Char crack?

Today I put a bunch of arrows through the bow I plan to ship. It was shooting great at the right weight and I felt real good about it and was wiping it down to get ready to sign it and saw this! It is just below the grip on lower limb. I must have charred too deep when bending at some point but honestly I don't remember what I did in that area anymore.

Crack goes 1/16" onto belly and runs down corner edge 5/16". No other cracks or crysals.

I am thinking I want to lightly sand to just touch wood and then put a tight sinew wrap of about 1/4" above and below it, so about 3/4" total.

How would you feel about this if shipping or if receiving this bow?

I would CA glue the crack first, then sinew wrap it. If you're worried about the wrap messing with the aesthetics, just do a matching one on the other limb. You could even add colored thread or a strip of fur over the sinew to make it look more intentional/ decorative. Personally I wouldn't mind receiving a bow with a wrap on it, as long as it the wrap holds and the bow shoots straight.

It depends; If you are sending it for cash it is a no go, if you are sending it as freebie, properly repaired it is a go.

At least that is the way I always did business when I was selling them and giving them away.

Hey Dakota, That's what I'm gonna do. I super glued it and then put a little extra with dust over and around the small area. I have some back sinew I soaked in tea and coffee a while back that is a nice brown and should work great. Might do a matching one up top too, not sure yet.

Eric, It's a trade bow but not cash involved. Still, I want to put out my best. I don't think it will effect the performance any so if the wrap turns out nicely I will still ship it.
