My nephew found this on our land in southwest Alabama.   An old one, huh?

Old and well sharpened. It would be worth a pretty good chunk of change if it was found in Florida. I found a 3" Bull Tongue Simpson down here that is in the book, "Best Of The South" and listed for $2400. What is the material? It looks like Coastal Plains with a white patina on it. If you want to see what it really looks like without damaging the patina just soak it in mineral oil for about a week. The patina will disappear and you can see the real color of the stone. Then just let the oil dry and the patina will come back.

How do people even see those!?! Pretty cool find.
May my presence go unnoticed, may my shot be true, may the blood trail be short. Amen.

Oh, yea, Dalton Points are from the Paleo Time period. The Dalton Period in our region was (8000-6000) BC.

Thanks for the info.  My little nephew was stoked when I told him what I knew about it.  It is made from the coastal chert that we have on our place.  Our land is about an hours drive north of the gulf - the last hills before you reach the Mobile delta country.
