Make some bee traps to put near where you store your camper and you will stop most of the bee boring.

We have some of those hanging in the area Eric.  I'm just taking all the precautions I can.  I don't want to fall through the floor of the camper because they tunneled all through it.

I put some trim boards inside the windows and the door today.




I framed up the door and put shims all the way around it so I could clamp it in place.  I put all the siding boards on and put a board across the middle.  I'm going to put another board across the top and bottom and then put a couple boards at a 45 degree angle between them.  It should look like an old barn door.  I left it clamped in place until I get the hinges on it.  This weekend I'm going to pull it to my house so I can finish up the roof.  I don't have enough head room to finish it where it is sitting right now.

Ya'll understand Clint used to be MUCH taller back in the day.  But he can't stand still for long and is always running off on another project. The little feller has worn his poor legs down to stumps!  Shoot, I get tired just reading about all his projects.

I feel like it right now JW.  I just made a mad dash to the old barn to get some supplies.  I wanted a couple rusty hasps I spotted earlier.  We are having high winds in front of a thunderstorm right now.  I wanted to get what I needed before the storm hit.  I'm glad I got everything when I did.  A large Black Locust tree next to the barn had a big limb fall off and onto the lean to roof.  It partially tore it down.  That is where I got all the wood siding.

Oh jeez, now I feel bad for picking on you when you were risking your life and limb (and not the one on the tree!) like that.  I am so glad you are ok, Clint.  Please be safe, buddy.  I'd hate to lose you. 


But then, lightning only strikes tall objects!

I made it back before the storm hit JW.  No worries.

I wasn't able to find any smaller rusty hinges for the window shutters.  I bought some new ones that were zinc coated.  I want to age them and promote some rust.  I soaked one in cleaning vinegar for 24 hours as a test.  It looks better already.  I threw the rest in to soak until I'm ready to use them.


The one on the right was soaked in the vinegar.

YYou could also put them in some strong bleach water and let them drip dry. Do that a couple of times and they might just match your old rusty hinges. Might take a couple of days. When you get them aged as much as you want just rub in a good coat of remington oil. They should stay that way forever. Looking good bud!
