Hey neighbor, don't get discouraged. It took me several try to be able to make a nice string. I still haven't made what I call a beautiful string but I'm more after the functionality of it myself. Next time we can get together I'll show you what Osage outlaw was talking about.

I appreciate the pep talk pat. After I talked to you I kinda was able to wrap my head around how to fix my twisting issue. planning on attempting another soon.

If you take all the twists out of each bundle after you make your loops you won't have any cableing, same for the middle of the string bundles after you finish the second loop.

I use power pro which is a spectra based line. I use 8 strands of 50 pound test and have yet to break one after 5 years of use.

I should add that ire verse twist mine. I know nothing of flemish twist.

Does that mean you use knots for the loops? what knots?

thinking of doing simple endless with unserved loops, then that turkish double loop on top of that, maybe w/ spectra or something. if not d97 or d10 or something. if not... hemp ?!?!?! braided? from long fibers, with hoof or bone glue? wonder how long that'd last

I invented my own type of loop knot. Hard to explain but simple to do.next string i make i will post on here.
